Rock Phosphate

Product Overview
SevenRivers SMC Pvt. Ltd. offers high-quality Rock Phosphate sourced from carefully selected natural deposits and processed to meet the performance requirements of modern agricultural and industrial applications.
Rock Phosphate is a naturally occurring phosphate-bearing mineral, primarily composed of calcium phosphate minerals, mainly apatite. It is an essential raw material for the fertilizer industry and plays a vital role in supporting global food production and sustainable soil management.
Our Rock Phosphate is mined and processed under strict quality controls to ensure consistent phosphorus content, uniform particle size, and dependable performance. It is suitable for direct soil application as well as for further chemical processing in the production of phosphatic fertilizers and industrial chemicals.
Manufacturing Process of Rock Phosphate
At SevenRivers SMC Pvt. Ltd., the manufacturing process of Rock Phosphate is designed to preserve the natural quality of the mineral while ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. From selective mining to final packaging, each stage is carefully controlled to deliver a reliable and cost-effective product for agricultural and industrial applications.
1. Selective Mining from Phosphate-Rich Deposits
The process begins with selective mining from high-grade phosphate-rich deposits. Advanced geological assessments and controlled extraction techniques are employed to ensure that only quality ore with optimal phosphorus content is sourced. This minimizes impurities and maintains a stable chemical composition in the final product.
2. Crushing and Screening
The mined rock phosphate is transported to the processing facility, where it undergoes primary and secondary crushing. This step reduces the raw ore to manageable sizes. Screening follows to separate material based on particle size, ensuring uniformity and preparing the material for further processing.
3. Washing (Where Required)
Depending on the nature of the deposit and end-use requirements, the crushed material may undergo washing. This process removes surface impurities such as clay, sand, and soluble contaminants, enhancing the purity and overall quality of the rock phosphate.
4. Grinding to Required Fineness
The cleaned and screened material is then ground using specialized milling equipment to achieve the required fineness. Particle size can be customized to meet specific customer requirements, whether for direct soil application or for use in chemical and fertilizer manufacturing processes.
5. Quality Inspection
Quality control is an integral part of the manufacturing process. Each batch is subjected to rigorous inspection and laboratory testing to verify phosphorus content, particle size distribution, moisture levels, and chemical stability. This ensures consistent performance and compliance with applicable industry standards.
6. Bulk or Bagged Packaging
Once approved, the finished rock phosphate is packed according to customer preferences. Options include bulk supply for large-scale industrial use or bagged packaging for ease of handling, storage, and transportation. Secure packaging ensures product integrity during transit and storage.
Chemical Specifications of Rock Phosphate
The Rock Phosphate supplied by SevenRivers SMC Pvt. Ltd. is characterized by a stable and well-balanced chemical composition, making it suitable for fertilizer manufacturing, soil conditioning, and various industrial applications. The product is processed under strict quality controls to ensure consistency, performance, and reliability across batches.
Chemical Composition
Chemical Name: Calcium Phosphate
The primary constituent of the product is naturally occurring calcium phosphate, mainly in the form of apatite, which serves as a key source of phosphorus and calcium.
P₂O₅ Content: 22 – 30%
Indicates the available phosphorus content expressed as phosphorus pentoxide (P₂O₅). This range ensures effective phosphorus supply for agricultural and chemical processing applications.
Calcium Oxide (CaO): 45 – 55%
A high CaO content contributes to soil conditioning benefits by helping improve soil structure and pH balance, in addition to supporting nutrient availability.
Moisture Content: ≤ 5.0%
Low moisture levels enhance product stability, prevent caking during storage, and ensure ease of handling and transportation.
Insoluble Matter: ≤ 10%
Controlled insoluble content ensures consistent reactivity and performance, particularly in fertilizer and chemical manufacturing processes.
Magnesium Oxide (MgO): ≤ 2.5%
Present in trace amounts, magnesium contributes additional agronomic value while remaining within acceptable limits for industrial use.
Silicon Dioxide (SiO₂): ≤ 8.0%
Maintained at controlled levels to limit inert material and ensure higher effective nutrient concentration.
Iron Oxide + Aluminum Oxide (Fe₂O₃ + Al₂O₃): ≤ 4.0%
Low combined iron and aluminum oxides help maintain product purity and enhance suitability for further chemical processing.
pH (Slurry): 6.5 – 8.0
The near-neutral pH range ensures compatibility with most soils and industrial processes, reducing the risk of adverse reactions.
Quality Assurance
Each batch of Rock Phosphate from SevenRivers SMC Pvt. Ltd. undergoes laboratory analysis to confirm compliance with these chemical specifications. This commitment to quality ensures consistent performance, regulatory compliance, and customer confidence.
