Talc

Product Overview
Seven Rivers SMC Pvt. Ltd. offers a comprehensive range of high-quality Talc Powder sourced from Pakistan’s naturally rich steatite deposits and processed to meet the technical and commercial requirements of modern industries worldwide. Our talc is engineered not merely as a filler, but as a functional mineral additive that enhances product performance, processing efficiency, and cost effectiveness across multiple applications.
Talc is a naturally occurring hydrated magnesium silicate (Mg₃Si₄O₁₀(OH)₂) and is widely recognized as the softest mineral on the Mohs hardness scale. Its unique lamellar (plate-like) crystal structure, combined with excellent chemical inertness, hydrophobicity, and thermal stability, makes talc one of the most versatile industrial minerals used today.
At Seven Rivers, we transform this natural resource into consistent, application-specific talc grades through controlled mining, crushing, grinding, and classification processes—ensuring reliable performance in every shipment.
Geological Advantage of Pakistani Talc
Pakistan hosts some of the world’s most significant talc and steatite reserves, particularly in the northern regions. These deposits are known for:
Naturally high magnesium silicate content
Favorable mineral morphology for industrial processing
Low hardness, resulting in low abrasiveness
Suitability for a wide range of industrial formulations
Seven Rivers leverages this geological advantage to deliver talc that balances performance, consistency, and cost, making it especially attractive for price-sensitive yet quality-driven markets.
Manufacturing Process of Talc
At Seven Rivers SMC Pvt. Ltd., talc is produced through a carefully managed process that turns natural stone into a fine, high-quality powder used by many industries. Each step is designed to protect purity, ensure consistency, and deliver reliable performance to our customers.1
1. Mining of Talc Stone
Talc production begins with the careful extraction of natural talc stone from selected deposits. Quality stone is chosen to ensure good color and purity.
2. Sorting and Cleaning
After mining, the talc stone is sorted to remove unwanted rocks and visible impurities. This step improves the natural whiteness and overall quality.
3. Crushing
The cleaned talc stone is crushed into smaller pieces. Crushing makes the material suitable for smooth and uniform grinding.
4. Grinding into Powder
Crushed talc is ground using specialized machines to convert it into powder. Different grinding levels are used depending on the required fineness.
5. Particle Size Control
The talc powder is checked and separated so that all particles are of uniform size. Oversized particles are removed to ensure consistent performance.
6. Quality Testing
Samples are tested for whiteness, fineness, moisture, and chemical balance to make sure the product meets required standards.
7. Packaging
Approved talc powder is packed into strong bags (25 kg, 50 kg, or jumbo bags) to protect it during storage and transportation.
8. Storage and Shipping
The packed talc is stored in dry conditions and shipped to customers worldwide with proper documentation.
Chemical Specifications of Talc
Talc is a naturally occurring mineral composed mainly of hydrated magnesium silicate. The chemical composition of talc plays a key role in determining its performance in plastics, ceramics, paints, rubber, and other industrial applications.
At Seven Rivers SMC Pvt. Ltd., our talc is processed to maintain stable and consistent chemical composition, ensuring reliable results for our customers.
